Manufacturing and Quality Process of Leather

01. Raw Material Selection

The production of faux Synthetic leather also known as Artificial Leather or PVC leather begins with the careful selection of materials. PVC resin, plasticizers, and pigments are combined to create a durable, flexible material. A backing fabric such as polyester, cotton, or non-woven fabric is chosen to provide structure. This serves as the base for the PVC coating, ensuring strength and stability.

02. PVC Paste Formulation

The next step involves creating the plastisol paste by blending PVC resin with plasticizers, stabilizers, and pigments. This paste determines the flexibility, texture, and color of the synthetic leather. The formulation is adjusted to meet the specific requirements of either the embossed design or the paper design finish.

03. Coating the Release Paper with PVC Paste

The coating process begins with applying a plastisol top layer to a release paper, creating the product's decorative surface. A second plastisol layer is added to form a foam base, with thickness adjusted for either embossed textures or paper designs. Adhesive is then applied to the backing fabric for bonding. For embossed design, the material undergoes embossing to create texture, while paper design products are simply transferred onto the paper for a smooth finish. The layers are laminated under heat and pressure, followed by curing in an oven to solidify the plastisol. After cooling, the release paper is removed, revealing either the textured or smooth final design.

04. Surface Finishing and Protection

A protective coating is applied to both embossed and paper designs to enhance durability. The protective layer ensures resistance to scratches, stains, and UV damage. Finishes such as glossy, matt, or semi-matt are added based on the desired look and functionality.

05. Cutting and Packaging

The synthetic PVC leather is then cut into rolls depending on customer specifications. The length of the roll is varying by the thickness, as per customer requirements. After the material is inspected for quality, it is packaged and ready for distribution to various industries, such as automotive, furniture, and fashion.
